new photo blog

i started this blog in 2006, and it's shifted along with my interests through the years. it's been witness to a lot of learning for me...

still, i feel that i need a home for my photography -- so from now on, i'll be posting my pictures on the journal on my reworked website. if you like my photos, you might decide to follow me there!

my first post is here -- check it out!

as for this blog, i'm not sure what will happen. i don't think i'm willing to let it go, and certainly i'll keep it as an archive, but i need some time to figure it out.

for those of you that pop in from time to time, thanks for the visits and encouragement.

golden hour oia

golden hour oia
view on black

pronounced ia, this is by far the loveliest town in santorini, greece. this is one of the two most classic views to be had of the place, from a little castle where people gather on a daily basis to witness the sunset.

this location is over-photographed, i know, but i wanted a version of my very own.

this particular day was extremely windy -- too windy to even use my tripod -- so i put down the camera on a ledge and held it down, for safety and stability. i tried many shots, most of which ended up blurry. this capture is somewhat decent.

EDIT: i had to shoot this with my old 40D because i don't yet own a nice wide-angle lens for the 6D. donations welcome :D
