new photo blog

i started this blog in 2006, and it's shifted along with my interests through the years. it's been witness to a lot of learning for me...

still, i feel that i need a home for my photography -- so from now on, i'll be posting my pictures on the journal on my reworked website. if you like my photos, you might decide to follow me there!

my first post is here -- check it out!

as for this blog, i'm not sure what will happen. i don't think i'm willing to let it go, and certainly i'll keep it as an archive, but i need some time to figure it out.

for those of you that pop in from time to time, thanks for the visits and encouragement.

in front of a kiosk in athens. i think the mirror was placed by the kiosk's owner so he could see who's approaching. i liked the lineup of greek newspapers and the 'the ministry of health warns that smoking can be hazardous to your health' warning on top.

i shot this with my 350D after i dropped off my 40D at the doctor's. you may be happy to know that it's back home and feeling fine.

Last year our village supermarket introduced mirrors above the cash line so that the lady cashiers could look in any shoppers' baskets held below the conveyor belt level. Cashiers were happy with this until I pointed out that mirrors work in both directions and now all us DOM (dirty old men) could look down into their decollete´s while waiting in the queue ;-)

Next day the mirrors had disappeared ;-)
