new photo blog

i started this blog in 2006, and it's shifted along with my interests through the years. it's been witness to a lot of learning for me...

still, i feel that i need a home for my photography -- so from now on, i'll be posting my pictures on the journal on my reworked website. if you like my photos, you might decide to follow me there!

my first post is here -- check it out!

as for this blog, i'm not sure what will happen. i don't think i'm willing to let it go, and certainly i'll keep it as an archive, but i need some time to figure it out.

for those of you that pop in from time to time, thanks for the visits and encouragement.

  1. Please tell me this required a tripod. I thought perhaps that Greece had greater sunsets, but now I see they actually follow you around.

  2. no tripod -- i brought one to france but stopped carrying it around after the first day.

this was hand-held whereas for the long exposure i took of la defense ( ), i set the camera down on a ledge (very dangerous thing to do).

  3. I guess I should of looked at the EXIF first. I'm blown away that you can hand-hold a 1/4s exposure with reasonable sharpness. I usually have to keep it at above 1/50s. I'm also astounded that you didn't settle for anything other than 100 ISO for both shots.

  4. i leaned against the rail -- it helped a lot. and i despise noise -- i almost never increase ISO.
