  2. i'm not convinced that believing in a delusion is helpful. facing reality is harsh -- and comforting ideas may be comforting... but not necessarily useful or good.

    decisions based on bad information can affect actions which may, in the long run, cause grief.

    another things is, that people don't really, consciously, decide whether to believe or not. faith -- or lack of it -- is a process, but not a decision.
