new photo blog

i started this blog in 2006, and it's shifted along with my interests through the years. it's been witness to a lot of learning for me...

still, i feel that i need a home for my photography -- so from now on, i'll be posting my pictures on the journal on my reworked website. if you like my photos, you might decide to follow me there!

my first post is here -- check it out!

as for this blog, i'm not sure what will happen. i don't think i'm willing to let it go, and certainly i'll keep it as an archive, but i need some time to figure it out.

for those of you that pop in from time to time, thanks for the visits and encouragement.

i'm coming up on several milestones and feel a crisis emerging -- so i'm sifting through old photos to maybe find myself.

this is me, circa 1989 1990 at our apartment in athens.

i shot this with a canon T60 analog camera with a kalimar 28-200mm f/3.5-5.3 macro lens. i still have them. if i remember correctly, i bought them in a huge rush at a shop on times square in new york city with my friend, andrea, after attending my 10-year high school reunion in wilmington, delaware.

  1. i got the following anonymous message over my blog chat widget:

'I know the date for your photo was approximate, but that camera was supposedly released late 1990, with most sold in 91-92. The original manual is dated September 1990.'

...and that's really puzzling because i bought it in NYC and i'm pretty sure i was there in 1989. i'll double-check with my friends as to the date of the reunion and re-comment.

  2. hmmm... crosschecked with classmates -- yerright! it was 1990!

  3. I see no difference. You're the same now...
