new photo blog

i started this blog in 2006, and it's shifted along with my interests through the years. it's been witness to a lot of learning for me...

still, i feel that i need a home for my photography -- so from now on, i'll be posting my pictures on the journal on my reworked website. if you like my photos, you might decide to follow me there!

my first post is here -- check it out!

as for this blog, i'm not sure what will happen. i don't think i'm willing to let it go, and certainly i'll keep it as an archive, but i need some time to figure it out.

for those of you that pop in from time to time, thanks for the visits and encouragement.

the train blurs

the train blurs

this is the old 'electric train' line of the metro from piraeus to kifisia, between marousi and nerantziotissa.

i've placed my position on the flickr page map.

  1. Inspired a little by Minature City?

  2. no not really -- i've been doing many images with a narrow depth of field and this is just another daily using that principle.

miniature city was created as tilt & shift.

  3. It was more than just the narrow depth of field that drew that comment. It was shot at a high angle, the colour and contrast seem unnaturally high, and most of all, it's a train--one of the most popular objects of scale modeling.

I should stop making guesses though, I've been wrong every time lately.
