my cosmos
sometimes i just get obsessive. i wanted something and i couldn't find it. so i made it.
i dedicate this video to the great carl sagan and annie druyan. it features images from voyager, cassini and hubble, finishing off with three views of our fragile pale blue dot.
the music is dj madson's 'blood sacrifice ritual', one of my two favorite tracks from the god who wasn't there, used with permission (thanks, brian). the other is 'is this the real thing'. you can download the entire soundtrack here and you can read part of the lyrics from the title song, 'the god who wasn't there', at this previous post.
i've never made a video before other than CAD animations. it was just for fun and i enjoyed it. and yeah, i know it's loooong. if you like it, rate it and/or leave a comment :)

It's beautiful, darling. A lovely tribute.
What a fine piece of work! Thanks for sharing.
I came to watch it from a link on Perlocutionary. It is a great tribute and a marvelous Sunday morning "sermon"!

Your video stirred thoughts of how rare this planet is in the vastness of the universe. In our solar system this is the only planet to have tectonic plates and the resultant mountain ranges are thought to aid in species diversification. What do you think of the dark energy theory?
i think i'm as clueless on negative pressure or dark matter as everyone else is.. or moreso since i'm no physicist. so.. what do i think? i think it's fun to read what other people think.
Very nice, but it ends so abruptly that I am tempted to believe that it is incomplete.
Oh, and one more thing: you appear to have configured the date & time format of comments on your blog to include only the time that a comment was added, which is not very informative. This comment is being added on April 30th.
it is april 30th -- in my time zone at least, it is.
this was the first time i'd ever used moviemaker. it seemed all right in the preview but the finished product differed. i don't want to redo it -- i figure the next videos i make will be better.
Great work, I hope to see more in the future. You definitly have a talent for making videos.
