i've been real quiet lately.. 'cause i'm reading a lot of stuff.
i read the end of faith and finished the demon-haunted world over the summer and then tackled the selfish gene, letter to a christian nation, and now the god delusion. after that, why darwin matters is waiting patiently for me.
i don't have much free time, so i'm reading while my applications are loading files, saving files, whenever i have a bit of time i have to wait. people are looking at me funny because sometimes i read when i'm walking down the street and often bump into things.
last night i woke up at 2 am and read till 4.
these books, old and new, are very enlightening but also satisfying in my corner of this intellectual desert, and greatly decrease my sense of isolation.
i just remembered that i have an almost-destroyed paperback of the dragons of eden that i've reread about once every five years. i'm so grateful these men have chosen to write these books. i've got to get something by dan dennett on the next order....
i'm also re-watching cosmos. it's as awesome and inspiring today as when i first saw it when it aired on tv.
if you haven't seen it, sneak a peek at this interview:
... and kalo mina!
(that's greek to you)
